BIG CATS

BIG CATS

i am extremely excited to announce my first public show of work for 16yrs and the culmination of a complicated year of taking pictures of live tigers, lions, cheetahs, jaguar and leopards @thebigcatsanctuaryuk in a photo studio i set up INSIDE a lion’s den (literally).

from 12th dec this year, we will be displaying some BIG prints of truly awesome big cats in the stainer st. tunnel of London bridge train station.

the cat featured here is NIAS: a #sumatrantiger

wild Sumatran tigers are under threat from poachers who kill them to harvest their body parts for traditional medicines.
They’re also under threat from having their habitats destroyed (by people)

us humans are wiping out animals at a horrifying rate: an elephant is killed by poachers every 26mins in the world.
The stunning Amur leopard I photographed is one of the last 77 in the world. There are less than 80 Sumatran rhinos left in the world.
As pretty as my pictures are, they are NOTHING compared to the majesty of living animals. We can’t be left with just pictures of what we once shared air with.

I lit these photos with brilliant @broncolor flash and Gary @dippinsauce retouched my photos so you can see every whisker.

Huge respect and gratitude to @thebigcatsanctuaryuk for making this happen and for doing their best to help the cats in their care and their cat cousins in the wild.
There will be an online auction of 30 prints with all proceeds going to the cats. Details will follow.
There’s a lot to be dealing with in the world but we do have to deal with saving all the animals too!
We can’t do everything but we can do some things.
Massive thanks to @se_railway and @networkrail for the massive gallery space.
Thanks to @peter_and_paul always for their design brilliance and @pressonuk for making over-ambitious ideas a reality.
