10 (actual) tons

10 (actual) tons

today we fully loaded another dustcart with 'stuff'

we did 5 tons on weds and 4 tons today

we've already done 10 smaller vans of wood and metal for recycling

every part of me aches: the worst parts are my forearms and fingers

it's hard to imagine how much 'stuff' was in the house

hard to comprehend even when we saw it stacked up ready to go in the dustcart

but now it's 80% gone, it feels like the house can breathe again

(and now the ancient carpets have gone WE can start to breathe again too)

still got a couple of tons, at least of 'stuff' in the garden and cellar to go

but that's on hold for a while.

biggest issue right now is our lack of gas and heating for the winter

takes two weeks for the gas supplier to even quote on connecting the house

and another 5 weeks before they do it once you've accepted the quote

another (up to) 13 weeks for the gas company to install a meter

before our gas safe plumber can connect it all up and fire up the engines

bring on artificial intelligence

pictured here: one of the uncovered 12 fireplaces / holes where fireplaces should be, FULL of years and years of pigeon skeletons and pigeon shit.

3 large bin bags of shit per chimney

goodbye good riddance
