alex zverev and a tall man

goddamit i'm shrinking

22yrs old, 6ft 7" world champion tennis player, Alex zverev and yours truly

photographed by maria monfort plana at the 02 this afternoon after our short shoot

which ALMOST didnt happen because british SECURITY (best in the world...rarely) wouldn't let us in because we didnt have accreditation.
despite expecting us, having our names, my car reg plate, having already checked the perou-mobile for bombs and being cleared by the operations manager over the phone.

'just doing my job mate'

i am just trying to do my job too mate

when we were finally let in without accreditation, the security guard looked like he was going to start crying: the rules have been broken...can't cope...bzzzz....aaargh....bzzzz

left him short circuiting in a corner and carried on NOT being able to set up lights as we had been told we could, before the shoot.
also had to wait for an electrician to show us where power could be found
and had to wait for an hour for the tennis players practicing on the practice court to clear.

it is external forces like these that impact on a shoot in ways that people seeing the final photo can have no comprehension of.

EVERY single shoot we EVER do, no matter how carefully planned, have complications and problems arise that were unexpected.

professional photographers deftly work round all of the problems as they come, so efficiently that people don't even realise there are complications and problems AND we always come back with quality photographs.

that's what people pay me for
and that's why inexperienced photographers meltdown when things go unexpectedly 'wrong'.

there were many other issues on this short shoot
but
the take away from this tale, as always, is that i finished the shoot with great photos
coming to a magazine near you (or not near you) soon

ION
in other news...

had a spectacularly good morning meeting with the organisation and managers that will host the most EPIC (do I overuse this word?) exhibition i have done.
which has been taking me and others MONTHS to arrange with lots of head-butting on closed doors that would not open

FINALLY some great news in this long project
which i will be thrilled to announce shortly

we're just trying to decide when to launch this show: mid dec or mid jan
either way, 2020 is looking like its going to be a very fine vintage

AND
my first (properly) published book 'Marilyn Manson by Perou: 21yrs in hell' is now available for pre-orders from REEL ART PRESS
and be selling like cakes that are hot

that too has been a long time coming (21yrs)

thankyou thankyou all

lucky perou
