after a little sleep
riff raff outside st. James palace
and a property auction in the rain
swiftly changed into a suit and went to catch a train
6 minutes before the train departed, i realised i was wearing yellow Vivienne Westwood SNAKESKIN shoes and they might NOT go down too well at st.james palace where we were heading to a conservation special with HRH princess Eugenie
fortunately, as we live AT the train station, I was able to run home, switch shoes and make it back to the train as it was leaving and board: a hot, sweaty mess
i have never been to st James palace before despite being a happy subject and 'royalist'
i wasn't able to take pictures and our phones were removed on arrival
but it was splendid
and
princess Eugenie was LOVELY and charming
also met some other top people who are connected to the big cat sanctuary (princess Eugenie is a patron of the sanctuary)
a man with a machine gun said we couldn't take a photo anywhere on palace grounds
but brother glyn took this of me and Lucy on departure
can you tell i'd had a few shandies?
stopped briefly in a hotel bar where i left my irreplaceable cutler and gross glasses
and caught an arduous train home
a little 'worse for wear'
oops
